Session Times

Operating within the guidelines of Universal Access children are entitled to up to 15 hours of preschool a week in the year before full-time schooling. We configure this as 30 hours a fortnight, with children receiving two full day sessions, 8.30am – 3.00pm, and alternate Friday mornings, 8.30 am – 12.30 pm.

Parent Information

Enrolment Policy:

Same First Day Policy: From 2014, if your child turns four before 1 May, they will start preschool on the first day of term one. If your child turns four on or after 1 May, they will start preschool on the first day of term one the following year. The Southern Adelaide Region has implemented a Proof of Age policy, with documentation to be provided at time of enrolment.

Priority of Access:

When there are high numbers at the kindergarten, it may become necessary for the centre to implement a Priority of Access policy. At such times, the centre will offer places to our local families first.

National Quality Framework:

The Centre operates within this framework and has been given a designated “site capacity”, which is based on our floor/space ratio and defines the maximum number of children who are able to attend at any one time. In conjunction with DECD and Governing Council we have established a catchment area around the Centre in order to manage enrolments. In times of excessive enrolments a waiting list may need to be established or alternative services sought by families.


As educators, we observe children in play and plan for and document their learning using The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’ and the South Australian resource ‘Respect, Reflect Relate’. Our curriculum is based on child-led discovery and adult led-learning. Building positive reciprocal relationships with children and families, we acknowledge children’s prior learning and dispositions and make a commitment to children’s wellbeing. We endeavour to provide an affording, inviting and potentiating environment which motivates children to explore, engage with others and deepen their knowledge, understandings and skills. We understand that children thrive when families and educators work together in partnership to support young children’s learning.

Staff Team:

The staff team comprises two full time teachers, 0.6 teacher and 1 early childhood worker. The staff look forward to working alongside you and sharing in your child's preschool experience and we hope your association with us is a happy one.

Governing Council:

Governing Council is the parent body, generally elected at the Centre’s AGM in November of each year, who are responsible for overseeing the Centre’s operation in conjunction with the Director. Parents are always welcome to attend these meetings, held twice a term. Involvement in this body offers additional networks and friendships as well as a deeper understanding of the nature of preschool education.

Lastly, as staff, we know that kindergarten life should not only be fun for the children but for parents too! We invite you to share in your child's experience by using the many opportunities provided throughout the year to be involved.
